Behind the Cards
Hello! I’m so grateful you’re here. I’m Alexa, and I named this site “De La Jade” after my mother, who is my greatest inspiration and spiritual mentor. According to my grandmother, she was born smiling. I believe it’s because of all the light she was so excited to share from the moment she could hit the ground running. She has always reminded my siblings and me to be appreciative, humble, and to lose ourselves in service. That is what I am here to do now.
A little side note: the name “De La Jade” is Spanish, chosen in honor of my mother, but as you can see, there is also a strong French influence throughout the site. Nooo, this doesn’t stem from my recent fascination with shabby-chic and French country interior design! (Although we can chat about that later :) The French influence comes from my desire to pay homage to the Tarot de Marseille, one of the foundational ancestors that helped shape modern tarot.
I intentionally chose to portray myself beside a lighthouse. It serves as a gentle reminder that when I read your cards, I am connecting with light energy and approaching each reading with the intention of helping you move forward in the most positive way possible. I choose love, and I deeply value your time and energy as we connect with Source.
